What you get after every test
- Gross WPM — all characters typed ÷ 5 ÷ minutes.
- Net WPM — gross WPM minus the penalty for uncorrected errors.
- Accuracy — correct characters ÷ total characters × 100.
- Backspace count and time taken, plus a Weak Spots report that lists your slowest and most-missed keys.
Pick the right test length
A 1-minute test is a quick warm-up. 2 and 5 minutes show a more honest average because early nerves fade. 10 minutes matches many official recruitment tests and reveals stamina and consistency. Choose the length that matches your goal.
What makes TypeX different from other typing test sites
- Real exam modes — a PSSSB-style Chunked Test with section navigation, not only a plain timer.
- Hindi and Punjabi done properly — Remington Gail and InScript layouts with an on-screen finger guide.
- Verifiable certificates — every certificate has a unique code anyone can check.
- Live, competitive formats — scheduled tests with live results, and the Squid Game elimination tournament.
- Learning, not just measuring — a 30-day Master Course and Weak Spot practice built from your own mistakes.
What is a good typing speed?
As a rough guide: under 25 WPM is beginner, 25–40 WPM is average, 40–60 WPM is good, and 60+ WPM is advanced for English. Government exams set their own pass marks and counting rules, so always check your exam notification. Accuracy matters as much as speed because errors reduce your net score.
